Born in New York City, I was bitten by the "magic bug" at a very young age. Performing magic was really fun, and an excuse to get in front of people and entertain. I'd perform for my family, for neighbors, and eventually all over the neighborhood. I used to joke that I was the "house magician" at the local Burger King, as I was frequently performing birthday party shows there. I was fortunate to have a supportive family, and my parents were always driving me to the shows!
I became interested in comedy, clowning, and circus, and along came an opportunity to perform with the
Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers Circus,
the World's Largest Tent Circus.
It was an incredible experience and SO MUCH FUN!!!
After graduating the University of South Florida with a degree in music, I began to street perform back home and act in Off-Broadway Theater. Soon I had the job warming up audiences for a TV show "Comedy Tonight" as well as opening up for top headliners.
After some years working comedy clubs, colleges, cruise ships, and family resorts, Merv Griffin saw my performance on "The Statler Brothers" TV Show (TNN). He brought me to his "Resorts Casino" in Atlantic City as the comedy act in his revue show “Wahoo! Baby"
Soon I was “discovered” by Ed McMahon, who had me appear with him at the MGM Casino in Las Vegas, on his NBC TV show "Next Big Star", which then led to a spot on the American Comedy Awards, and several appearances on the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Thank You Ed!!
In addition to the Todd Charles Comedy Show, my udder show, "The Moogician" has broadened my skills in ways I never imagined! Been loving the venues and audiences that the Moogician Show has offered me!
